“Damnnn dude!!! You are from Nainital? How does it feel to live in there? Blah.. blah…blah.. “. This is the most common reaction I face when people come to know that I live in Nainital and trust me it feels amazing to tell them my life experiences, stories and many more. But can not tell this to mass, so just take a chill pill and get your ass to a comfy seat and I will take you to the exciting experience of my life.
Now let us start from scratch, Nainital was founded in 1841 by P. Barron and it’s one of the most visited places in Uttarakhand. The kidney-shaped lake surrounded by lush green mountain, market that runs parallel to the lake and the weather condition will give you the life long memories. So, let us begin from the places to visit in Nainital,
1- Naini Lake:- Once you enter the town of Nainital, the very first thing you will notice is the Naini Lake. The kidney-shaped lake filled with chilling blue water under sunlight is breathtaking and trust me you will feel like you are in heaven. The scenery will hold you in its trap and will never let you forget it. And yeah!! No one would like to miss the golden opportunity of exploration of the lake so for that, you can hire a boat that will take you for a ride (like an Uber!!) and you can feel much closer to nature.
2-Mall Road- The road runs parallel to the lake and is the center for food, shops for cultural items. You can check out some mouth-watering dishes, variety of Candles, Woollen designer dress and many more.

3-Naina Devi Temple– On the other side of the lake, Naina Devi temple is situated and its believed that the name of the town is named after the Naina Devi. So you can plan to visit this place as well along with your family.
4-Tibetan Market- At the end of the mall road, the Tibetan market is situated (also known as the Bhotia Market) which is also the most famous market in the town and you can plan to visit this place as well. This place is famous for Tibetan local food like Thukpa, delicious Momos and traditional woolen dress.
Disclaimer-If you are traveling to this place along with your female companion and you hate shopping then please do avoid this place cuz it can again make your time and wallet sick and weak…Just Kidding(not really)!!!
5-Ropeway– Nainital Ropeway gives you the breathtaking scenic view of the town that connects Mallital and snow viewpoint and it’s said to be the fastest ropeway in the country. If you visit Nainital then please do give this a try at least and trust me you won’t regret it.
How to travel to this place?
By Air- The nearest airport from Nainital is Pantnagar Airport (which is around 70 km away). But the only problem which arises is that the airport is not well connected to other parts of the country.
By Railways- The nearest Railway station from Nainital is Kathgodam Station (which is around 36 km away). From the railway station, you can either grab a cab or government buses (will cost you pretty less).
By Road- Nainital is well connected to roads so you can come from any part of the country conveniently.
NOTE–i)Always carry a jacket or sweaters while coming to this place. ii)Avoid visiting in May/June/December cuz you would not like to spend your vacation in traffic jams. iii)If you feel dizzy while traveling to hilly regions then please do carry vomiting pills (This will save your life). iv)Try to interact with local people coz they are really sweet and kind (like me..PJ XP). v)Bargain for every single stuff before actually buying it (Talent of Indians).
नैनीताल-द लेक टाउन !!
“क्या बात है दोस्त !!! तुम नैनीताल से हो? वहां रहना कैसा लगता है? ब्लाह .. ब्लाह … ब्लाह ..”। यह सबसे आम प्रतिक्रिया है जब लोगों को पता चलता है कि मैं नैनीताल में रहता हूं और मुझे विश्वास है कि मुझे अपने जीवन के अनुभव, कहानियां और बहुत कुछ बताने में आश्चर्यजनक लगता है। लेकिन इसे काफ़ी लोगो को नहीं बता सकते हैं, इसलिए बस एक गेहरी सांस लो और आराम से बैठो एक शानदार सीट पर और मैं तुम्हें अपने जीवन के रोमांचक अनुभव के लिए ले जाऊंगा।
अब हमें खरोंच से शुरू करते हैं, नैनीताल की स्थापना 1941 में पी। बैरॉन ने की थी और यह उत्तराखंड में सबसे अधिक देखी जाने वाली जगहों में से एक है। हरी-भरी पहाड़ से घिरा किडनी के आकार का झील, बाजार जो झील के समानांतर चलता है और मौसम की स्थिति आपको जीवन भर लंबी यादें देगी। तो, आइए हम नैनीताल में घूमने के स्थानों से शुरू करते हैं,
1- नैनी झील: – एक बार जब आप नैनीताल शहर में प्रवेश करते हैं, तो सबसे पहली चीज जो आप देखेंगे, वह है नैनी झील। सूर्य के प्रकाश के तहत चिलिंग ब्लू वाटर से भरी किडनी के आकार की झील लुभावनी है और मुझे विश्वास है कि आप महसूस करेंगे कि आप स्वर्ग में हैं। दृश्यावली आपको अपने जाल में फँसाएगी और कभी भी आपको इसे भूलने नहीं देगी। और हाँ !! कोई भी झील के अन्वेषण के सुनहरे अवसर को चूकना नहीं
चहेगा, इसलिए आप एक नाव किराए पर ले सकते हैं जो आपको एक सवारी के लिए ले जाएगी और आप प्रकृति के बहुत करीब महसूस कर सकते हैं।
2-माल रोड– सड़क झील के समानांतर चलती है और भोजन, सांस्कृतिक वस्तुओं की दुकानों का केंद्र है। आप कुछ माउथ-वॉटरिंग व्यंजन, विभिन्न प्रकार की मोमबत्तियाँ, ऊनी डिज़ाइनर ड्रेस और बहुत कुछ देख सकते हैं।

3-नैना देवी मंदिर– झील के दूसरी ओर, नैना देवी मंदिर स्थित है और इसका मानना है कि शहर का नाम नैना देवी के नाम पर रखा गया है। इसलिए आप अपने परिवार के साथ इस जगह पर भी घूमने की योजना बना सकते हैं।
4-तिब्बती बाजार– मॉल रोड के अंत में, तिब्बती बाजार स्थित है (जिसे भोटिया बाजार के नाम से भी जाना जाता है) जो कि शहर का सबसे प्रसिद्ध बाजार है और आप इस स्थान पर भी घूमने की योजना बना सकते हैं। यह स्थान तिब्बती स्थानीय भोजन जैसे थुकपा, स्वादिष्ट मोमोज और पारंपरिक ऊनी पोशाक के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
डिस्क्लेमर-अगर आप अपनी महिला साथी के साथ इस जगह की यात्रा कर रहे हैं और आप खरीदारी से नफरत करते हैं तो कृपया इस जगह से बचें क्यूकी यह फिर से आपके समय और बटुए को बीमार और कमजोर बना सकती है … जस्ट किडिंग (वास्तव में नहीं) !!!
5-रोपवे– नैनीताल रोपवे आपको शहर के लुभावने प्राकृतिक दृश्य प्रदान करता है, जो मल्लीताल और बर्फ के दृश्य को जोड़ता है और इसे देश का सबसे तेज़ रोपवे कहा जाता है। यदि आप नैनीताल आते हैं तो कृपया इसे कम से कम आजमाएं और मुझे विश्वास है कि आपको इसका पछतावा नहीं होगा।
इस जगह की यात्रा कैसे करें?
वायु द्वारा– नैनीताल से निकटतम हवाई अड्डा पंतनगर हवाई अड्डा है (जो लगभग 70 किमी दूर है)। लेकिन एकमात्र समस्या जो उत्पन्न होती है वह यह है कि हवाई अड्डा देश के अन्य हिस्सों से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा नहीं है।
रेलवे द्वारा– नैनीताल से निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन काठगोदाम स्टेशन है (जो लगभग 36 किमी दूर है)। रेलवे स्टेशन से, आप या तो एक कैब या सरकारी बसों को पकड़ सकते हैं (आपकी लागत बहुत कम होगी)।
सड़क द्वारा- नैनीताल सड़कों से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है, इसलिए आप देश के किसी भी हिस्से से आसानी से आ सकते हैं।
नोट- i) इस जगह पर आते समय हमेशा जैकेट या स्वेटर रखें। ii) मई / जून / दिसंबर में जाने से बचें,क्यूंकि आप ट्रैफ़िक जाम में अपनी छुट्टी नहीं बिताना चाहेंगे। iii) यदि आप पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों की यात्रा करते समय चक्कर महसूस करते हैं तो कृपया उल्टी की गोलियां लें (इससे आपकी जान बच जाएगी)। iv) स्थानीय लोगों के साथ बातचीत करने की कोशिश करें क्यूंकि वे वास्तव में मधुर और दयालु हैं (मेरे जैसे..पीजे एक्सपी)। v) वास्तव में इसे खरीदने से पहले हर एक सामान के लिए मोलभाव (टैलेंट ऑफ़ इंडियन्स)।
